The Kite..

In pinkish blue evening sky, a kite fluttered about, hovering just above white butea.. the tree had scarce foliage and flowers during autumn, the rings of twilight played panorama on it's canopy. Ella watched as the dark shape of the kite flew back missing out a tall branch, Setu must be winding down.. Setu was Ella's best friend Raji's younger brother, Ella saw it hanging further downwards.. it descended right in Raji's frontyard .. so it was setu's kite, she already knew.. as it was beautiful plain yellow with similar shining stripe dividing midway or so it appeared.. she thought.

The tree became a dark filigree in another few minutes as dark cocooned over.. the lattice of it as intricate as some woman's ornament, .. the fields that stretched further below, far away to the edge now appeared to be restful in it's own resurgence, they were filled with hay grass and somewhere with a feet or two high green feed for cattle shining under still dark yet colourful sky.. it was a beautiful vision, calm and soothing, she inhaled in then perched up one side on the parapet of the terrace.. her usual spot for to relax at the end of day, in the evening. the final exam results would soon come out and she would select a college for further studies, mostly Raji and herself both of them will go together.

She looked at the dull glow of sky beyond hillside and fields merging as one in horizon, and the darkness of forest lined up to edge hooded over, it was going to be difficult to stay away from home for further studies if she were to find college outside of the district.. though she was certain that they both will get in any of three major district colleges, and they would be home on weekends.. it won't be so much difficult to get along.. the birds chirping, and other clamouring went off slowly.. Ella went down after a while.. a sweet aroma of rice and curry wafted up to stairs besides front porch, her mother had cooked insisting her rest of vacation..

Ella: mom it smells mouth watering..

Kaila: it's time yet before serving, take a plum and go to swing for awhile..

Ella: let me help with loaves..

Kaila said impatiently.. "no, kid".. " just go to whatever .." ..

Ella went to swing to the far end of long porch and set swinging .. as her mental analysis continued. . it was yet a week before results be declared finally.. she mulled over.. what to do if she get score well in science she will get in medicine or engineering or to go home science college graduation as Raji had planned.. afterall she didn't like to read a lot, she had good score just because she paid attention to preparation for the exam time studies.. and it may turnout that she won't fit in science and technology major reading or ranting freak extremely intelligent class full of geeks.. or perhaps even she might but couldn't excel.. it was best to choose easier course to specialise that might require less reading and intelligence and more experimental expertise and hard work..

Raji came next afternoon, just as they had planned to go enjoy leisurely evening at riverside. Setu trailed behind with his kite and thread roll cheering happily..

Raji: go back home, leave us be..

Setu: naay.. i am gona see riverside myself, and fly over ..

He waved the kite showing less intrest in duo girls and more in some wayward thoughtless kite flying session as if he was asked to keep watch on two girls.. he sniffed irritatingly and ran ahead leaving the two behind.

The Bridge..

The Bridge ... Once upon a time there was a piece of flat land standing aside a river bank of northern bridge that hung in misty valley of central Asia.. fog engulfed the shores in twilight every time by dusk and dawn.. each fortnight shone in the orange yellow lights from day and afore night.. while pearl white during the hours.. It was called mystical valley of old people who were named after the plants that grew under shade of the bridge in flat land called.. idinra.. of silva.. the plants were told to be supernatural life giver among people.. and it was said that one can become immortal by drinking nectar.. but rarely were the brew made and used commonly.. The ethereal beautiful and fertile land was reveared among tribe that provided and nourished.. and young Nsytia daughter of village black Smith came to river bank woods strolling everyday with her friends.. swinging on trees and wild animals.. they rode in foray of youth and celebration by alternate vigil of their people...

Tangle..

Stars shimmered in dark of moonless sky.. Ragbi peered out from under her veil.. it must be about quarter past midnight.. she thought.. a lamp burned bright far away in the wheat field, and numerous other tiny lights twinkling around village .. during the season of winter festival.. appeared as though teaming of stars on full moon of winter night sky.. putting an illusion of moon and stars bright in dark of horizon instead of blank moonless night, only a bit closer.. her veil lifted moving in a gust of wind, and zari border of her drape shone like a tail of a comet, she tugged at it pulling overheard.. then stepped down the porch and went to sit by neem tree in the front yard.. looking out to distant horizon .. her eyes searched for a sign of a horse advancing .. moved about pathway crossing directly across fields from village entrance and faraway to one of a street.. periodically.  She was waiting for her husband moko, to return from jama's village where he had gone to give fes...

The Sugarcane fields..

Pithi walked a step towards door at the farther end of extremely large room.. it had been an ordeal for her to sit waiting for her .. husband.. they had married today.. and this was their first night of marriage.. the bed was full of flowers.. she stood looking out the field.. the sugarcane farms.. in dark moonless night.. their house was three story .. and the room was on top .. a lamp burned in the courtyard on neem tree.. and the canes swayed in fast wind.. Earlier she had waited on second floor untill they made the top room in arrangement of flowers.. on the second floor amidst the storage of harvest machinery and obnoxious large stacks of cane.. the room smelled extremely sweet of fresh canes and grease and oil from machinery.. everyone was downstairs on first floor except for her sister in law who came a couple of times.. the house was three story each floor made in single giant one room.. as it seemed.. the plain architecture and wideness soothed her.. and she found the house...
