The Towers..

Amal was tired .. Yesterday night was long on site.. he had taken two shifts straight for monthly overhaul and routine check as well for machine two's restart after fault clearance.. this has been a very busy weekend.. he climbed down from third floor.. to check out.. slightly.. hoping that there won't be any emergency calls afterwards.. the railing shone white as the floor appeared.. closer.. .. it was 2 am.. Maalti would be sleeping.. he hated to disturb her.. instead he could spend some time in the parking.. perhaps.. but it was too early in the morning anyway..

He walked slowly.. the parking was dark.. the pole lamp few yards away farther on both side of the turn.. yet bright enough.. as he neared his bike.. a wild mongoose ran after some thing in shrubs as well night birds shrill voice pearced.. chill in dark night.. he took out a cigarette.. and lounged on concrete bench.. tomorrow will be free.. he will have rest and.. continue with his book.. he loved reading fiction.. oh.. hell .. he remembered.. he had to go meeting client for blowers blade runner change and bearing.. how could he must have given appointment on Sunday for a purchase selection suggestion.. anyway he only filled form for such.. but .. the enthusiastic sales person had gotten flip of his calendar it seemed.. the appointment he gave a week back.. and had stumbled upon reminder today.. for a mental note.. it felt like a strange hour .. of night to fall on.. he sighed.. suddenly feeling like going in warm bed.. ..

The next week was all free.. his reminder was always out on roll for the lack of enough buzz.. it seemed useless.. for a gadget.. he didn't need any being a maintenance engineer.. he hardly had any use of diary.. the birds shrieked again.. .. he sucked on cigarette before throwing in shrubs after .. snuffing it down..He drove faster between scarce traffic .. back home..

Maalti wokeup quickly as he unlocked door.. she looked sleepy and inviting..

Amal: ex cuse me sweets.. i .. got off..

Maalti.. hugged him.. "oh.. i thought you will be back sooner.. are you hungry.. ?.."

Amal: no.. i didn't mean to wake you.. sleep.. i will be right by you..

As he went in shower. .. maalti continued..

Maalti: i have cooked your favourite samosa.. ..

Amal: for breakfast.. .. i am tired..

Maalti: do you want some tea.. ?

Amal  .... got out of shower...

Amal: yes.. only if you aren't sleepy..

Maalti: oh.. i am well rested.. be right back..

Amal .. sipped on while maalti remade his side of bed..

Maalti:  tomorrow Sunday.. we will go to cinema..

Amal: ok.. evening.. which flick you want to see..

Maalti: don't know..

Amal slid beside her.. hugging her.. " ok i will check list.. "

Maalti slept quickly after he loved her .. tired.. he flipped a page of his book.. before he fell asleep ..

His meeting next day.. with machine sales person went alright on time and later he took Maalti to watch a movie "Bidi" ..

Mostly he rode in pull to and from office .. and took bike sometimes.. his night shift time was off by 3:45.. and the other day he fell on some noice near parking which as he tried to look on back.. just saw a white shadow.. he took as misperception due to fatigue.. and later saw similar thing..  many times.. next weekdays when he heard same.. he smiled cheerfully.. and spoke aloud.. "i promise to giveup.. " .. and left parking.. immediately .. riding on his bike..  then afterwards he never saw anything suspicious ever.. ..

The Bridge..

The Bridge ... Once upon a time there was a piece of flat land standing aside a river bank of northern bridge that hung in misty valley of central Asia.. fog engulfed the shores in twilight every time by dusk and dawn.. each fortnight shone in the orange yellow lights from day and afore night.. while pearl white during the hours.. It was called mystical valley of old people who were named after the plants that grew under shade of the bridge in flat land called.. idinra.. of silva.. the plants were told to be supernatural life giver among people.. and it was said that one can become immortal by drinking nectar.. but rarely were the brew made and used commonly.. The ethereal beautiful and fertile land was reveared among tribe that provided and nourished.. and young Nsytia daughter of village black Smith came to river bank woods strolling everyday with her friends.. swinging on trees and wild animals.. they rode in foray of youth and celebration by alternate vigil of their people...

Tangle..

Stars shimmered in dark of moonless sky.. Ragbi peered out from under her veil.. it must be about quarter past midnight.. she thought.. a lamp burned bright far away in the wheat field, and numerous other tiny lights twinkling around village .. during the season of winter festival.. appeared as though teaming of stars on full moon of winter night sky.. putting an illusion of moon and stars bright in dark of horizon instead of blank moonless night, only a bit closer.. her veil lifted moving in a gust of wind, and zari border of her drape shone like a tail of a comet, she tugged at it pulling overheard.. then stepped down the porch and went to sit by neem tree in the front yard.. looking out to distant horizon .. her eyes searched for a sign of a horse advancing .. moved about pathway crossing directly across fields from village entrance and faraway to one of a street.. periodically.  She was waiting for her husband moko, to return from jama's village where he had gone to give fes...

The Sugarcane fields..

Pithi walked a step towards door at the farther end of extremely large room.. it had been an ordeal for her to sit waiting for her .. husband.. they had married today.. and this was their first night of marriage.. the bed was full of flowers.. she stood looking out the field.. the sugarcane farms.. in dark moonless night.. their house was three story .. and the room was on top .. a lamp burned in the courtyard on neem tree.. and the canes swayed in fast wind.. Earlier she had waited on second floor untill they made the top room in arrangement of flowers.. on the second floor amidst the storage of harvest machinery and obnoxious large stacks of cane.. the room smelled extremely sweet of fresh canes and grease and oil from machinery.. everyone was downstairs on first floor except for her sister in law who came a couple of times.. the house was three story each floor made in single giant one room.. as it seemed.. the plain architecture and wideness soothed her.. and she found the house...
