The wadi of Satli river....

Bhuli did light a lamp in the dry river bed of Arroyi river.. while her husband Sukho teathered their cows.. buffalo cattle and oxan.. and started tying a tent nearby some trees.. inlined further deeper in river bed due to land reform around by the floods in past few years that this region has seen.. they have come travelling up north when their farms were seized by authorities due to falling in the upcoming dam construction site..

their son did played joyfully around .. as Sukho looked at his young and beautiful wife.. Bhuli was exceptionally beautiful.. and he marvelled at her presence in his life.. she had agreed to marry him only for small amount of dowry security .. ensuring her grandfather's well-being.. she didn't have any relattives.. her whole family passed away in last decade due to various murky that fell in her region.. though Sukho's father tried to convince the old man to come along .. he persisted his denial firmly.. her village was 36 hours by bullock cart .. in North.. straight from the now full fledged dam construction site..

Dhaku: father.. where's grand maa and grand pa..

Sukho: they are still at our old house village.. once we decide our new village where to settle.. they will come join us.. my son..

Bhuli: Sukha .. it's about to nightfall.. Please stop both of you chatting time waste.. and grab me some fresh tinder..

Sukho: yes .. let's go.. Dhaka.. grab the axe..

Bhuli flickered once to their receding back.. flashing yet milky white and a little irre irregular forms moving towards farther parallel to river edge bushes and dry shrubs..

She sighed.. Sukho was very intelligent but a naive and light hearted.. and though he dotted on her as if they were new couple.. after still all these years.. she had gotten tired of looking after him .. correcting his small insignificant matters about work and social life.. and she missed her mother in law .. it's been a fortnight or well beyond.. she got desperate to find some stability clue in next village.. if she could find a little bit likelier place to settle as well Sukho might find some work.. she thought.. they have passed three villages after leaving their old house village and the next one falling in way was a little bigger village .. Bambana.. named after the Baambna saint as they know very well around this region.. this place wasn't far away from their old village yet if they settled here .. their parents could join us quickly.. and easily.. she thought it would be further better to be in contact with other relatives.. while she adjusted few stones to make a stove.. and grabbed the bunch of pots from the cart.. she noted greenery nearby.. might be some grazing.. available.. she will ask Sukho to make a turn for cattle while she cooked.. she thought..

She jirked up as Sukho put down the bundle of fresh tinder nearing her.. Dhako ran away.. cheerfully having helped completing work assigned to him.. his mother was the supreme authority his father always taught to obey.. and she was so beautiful even more so then the goddess in the beautiful temple. .. for once when he seen the heavily decorated goddess in the beautiful temple.. he always remarked.. he tugged once on the loose end of her drape and bounced.. off.. his usual gesture of love.. to his adorable mother..

Sukho: here..

Bhuli: check out nearby rise up flat .. there might be some grazing..

Sukho: yes.. i already checked.. i will be back in a while..

He left to reshift cattle to nearby lush green patch.. he would light a fire to ward off predators jackals and boars.. as she cooked he did reshift quickly and light up fire nearby cattle and another by their tant.. Dhako ate earlier exclaiming he was hungry well before while she made few hot chapaati..

Dhako: maa can i go to play near cattle.. i will help paa ..

Bhuli: no.. your father will be back soon... we will be here for untill few days.. go tomorrow morning by the water ridges and cattle.. not now..

"Very well.." Dhako agreed cheerfully.. and ran off in the back side of their tent nearby big campfire his father started earlier..

Sukho came back as soon resetting cattle as she finished spice and cooking.. and they ate together.. Afterwards once inside the tent.. she made a bed for them the once on smaller bed she had made earlier for Dhako had already fallen asleep.. she lied down on cushions joining two single bed spreads ... after pulling down the separator..

Sukho: i like this place.. the neighbouring one nearby is a slightly bigger village than ours... i will easily find work..

Bhuli: yes.. me too..

She hugged him trying to fall asleep letting away all the thoughts about resettlement..

The cliff..

Paarya went to the cliff everyday.. in the hope that she would hear the melodious cadence once more.. just once more.. please.. God.. she prayed.. as she climbed the steep clear trail.. to the top of the hill nearby her house.. she went regularly to see the sunrise or sometimes sunset mostly in the evening.. please as she urged herself forward.. the stiff cotton folds of her paticote flipping by her legs... she hardly payed any attention to the side.. the shrubs looked extremely still as she moved .. appeared yellow sometimes.. she wondered .. if it was flowers or the drop in her false vision.. both sides were flooded with spring blooms... lightly sprinkled.. . shrubs and bushes... somewhere.. right from out the gate of her house to the steep incline.. then a rise.. really was a small span of substantially wide strap to the base of earth rise to hill and then a little awkward steady incline up to the small flat ground atop hill and uneven extension of the hill side in all ways.. the...

The Bridge..

The Bridge ... Once upon a time there was a piece of flat land standing aside a river bank of northern bridge that hung in misty valley of central Asia.. fog engulfed the shores in twilight every time by dusk and dawn.. each fortnight shone in the orange yellow lights from day and afore night.. while pearl white during the hours.. Tangle..

Stars shimmered in dark of moonless sky.. Ragbi peered out from under her veil.. it must be about quarter past midnight.. she thought.. a lamp burned bright far away in the wheat field, and numerous other tiny lights twinkling around village .. during the season of winter festival.. appeared as though teaming of stars on full moon of winter night sky.. putting an illusion of moon and stars bright in dark of horizon instead of blank moonless night, only a bit closer.. her veil lifted moving in a gust of wind, and zari border of her drape shone like a tail of a comet, she tugged at it pulling overheard.. then stepped down the porch and went to sit by neem tree in the front yard.. looking out to distant horizon .. her eyes searched for a sign of a horse advancing .. moved about pathway crossing directly across fields from village entrance and faraway to one of a street.. periodically.  She was waiting for her husband moko, to return from jama's village where he had gone to give fes...
